UK video game deals site SavyGamer celebrates it’s fifth anniversary today. Founded by Lewie Proctor, who occasionally lends his pen to a number of gaming sites as well as running the weekly “Bargain Bucket” on RockPaperShotgun, the site gathers the best deals around the web and the UK for thrifty gamers.
As part of the 5th anniversary there is a party anniversary party hosted in london, tickets are now gone though. And for those of us not in the area several indie developers are running a sale to coincide with the 5th anniversary. Among the games going on sale are AI War, Blue Toad Murder Files, Eufloria, Fate of the World, Frozen Synapse, Gratuitous Space Battles, Really Big Sky, VVVVVV, “and loads more”. The sale will run from the 3rd to the 10th of May so check the link below to see what deals are up and running and grab yourself a bargain.
Lewie Proctor issued this statement on the anniversary and sale:
I’ve dedicated the last five years of my life to helping gamers across the UK, and around the world, keep track of all the best deals in gaming. Whether it’s games on shiny plastic discs; digital distribution discounts; direct sales from indie developers or indie game bundles, I’ve kept a hawk-like stare across the entire games industry, every day posting the deals on all formats to SavyGamer.co.uk.
This week long sale is my way of saying thank you to all the gamers out there who’ve entrusted me to be their first point of call for whenever they’re after a game for cheap. It’s also a sneaky way of attracting anyone who might be sick of paying over the odds for their games: SavyGamer.co.uk could be exactly the website you need.
But before I go, I’d like to give a special thanks to all the superbly talented developers who’ve chosen to take part in the sale. There’s some fantastic games on offer, so tuck in!
I’m quite a fan of SavyGamer, they’ve helped save me a fair few quid over the past couple of years (if only I’d have known of them sooner), so it’s great to see the hard work of the staff at SavyGamer paying off. If you’re also a fan of lists Lewie publishes a monthly “SavyCharts“, showing the most popular deals of the month.
Also I’ll suggest hitting up “Canvas and Paints“, a blog ran by Lewie’s mum where she paints a variety of video game inspired paintings for both commission and the Oxfam and Child’s Play charities.
