Fredrik Wester, CEO of Paradox Interactive, has confirmed that the Xbox LIVE Arcade port of the team based western shooter Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West has been cancelled. Speaking to Joystiq, Wester said that: “if you want to play the game, you should do it on PC or PSN, because we’re not really sure that we can ever release it on XBLA. Or that we’re ever gonna release it on XBLA.”
Lead and Gold was originally intended to release on PC via Steam, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 sometime this year, however the XBLA version has constantly been pushed back and delayed whilst the other versions of the game have launched. Paradox’s next game, titled Magicka, is being developed with the XNA development tool and intended to release through XBLA some time next year.
