This month Qore let it’s subscribers have an advanced look at God of War 3 by releasing the E3 2009 demo as a free download. The demo opens up really nicely. Transferring straight from the title screen you see above, to some skeleton type creatures running towards Kratos, no loading screen or blackout. It’s a very smooth transition and a cool effect.
By Bryan Hall Since the beginning, man has desired hair upon their face. No one really knows why, its lost to the sands of time, like the dodo bird and respectability in politicians (zing! Topical). Our video games reflect this, as some of the most famous gaming icons sport various chin straps and nostril decoration. From the simple mustache to elaborate designs both impractical and awesome, it is a trend I hope will never fade. But who among them could claim to have the best, the greatest, the most awe-inspiriting […]

Direct2Drive has joined Steam in offering their prices in European friendly flavours. Previously it had been in US$ or £, leaving Euro using folks to the whim of currency conversion. Sometimes this could mean a good deal, sometimes a pain in the neck. Steam moved over to Euros a few years back, but has drawn much criticism for their pricing, sometimes making European prices nearly $10+ more. So with D2D now in Euros it could lead to a fair few folks moving to D2D for their DD gaming fix. As an example on differences in pricing Torchlight for […]
If you’ve been playing games at all in the past 2 years chances are you’ve run across the man, the myth, the legend, Nolan North. The established voice actor of numerous TV shows & games (Justice League & Dark Void) really stepped into the limelight with 2007’s Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. Since then it seems that word has spread about Mr. North’s voice acting chops and his use has increased like a horde of Zombies after a boomer has just been to town.
By Arionfrost Lately, I have been thinking alot about the state of Role Playing Games, and the people who play them. I feel that we as gamers (I am speaking collectively, you yourself may feel you do not fall into this catagory) are likely the whiny, high-maintanence girlfriend who does everything to make her boyfriend’s life a living hell, yet he sticks with her because he knows where the good sex is. This is the analogy I use to describe the relationship between gamers and the game developer.
by Darrin Wright Darksiders is a game that could possibly be one of the best games to slip under your radar. Vigil Games and THQ teamed up to bring us a game about the apocalypse; that is, if the apocalypse felt a lot like a combination of the Legend of Zelda and God of War. In the game you play as War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and that’s all I’m going to say about the story, except something happens that War gets framed for and spends […]
No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle is the sequel to a game no one expected to see (even the original joked it would never happen) is finally here and it is a non-stop over the top celebration of what it is to be a game. No other game in recent memory has just enjoyed its own style and humor more than No More Heroes. How does it do this? Just how crazy do things get? How about a dozen or so cheerleaders flying into space, combining a huge mech and […]
