Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is the best TMNT game there has ever been. If that sounds like faint praise: it is. Even though the game pushes the boundaries of what to expect from a low-budget, licensed beat ’em up, by working the strengths of the franchise into fairly deep gameplay, it is hamstrung by a patently rushed development cycle (take a bow Activision and Xbox ‘Summer of Arcade’).
I wanna say something. I’m gonna put it out there; if you like it, you can take it, if you don’t, send it right back. I prefer Dragon’s Dogma to Skyrim.
Let’s cut the suspense- Skullgirls is a letdown. It’s a project of big dreams, and it would be a hell of an understatement to say that it didn’t quite reach its goals. For every good idea, there are two bizarre omissions, and in the end, what we’re left with is a fighting game that just isn’t what it’s supposed to be. For all that, though, I’m glad it exists, and hope that the few lessons it has to teach the rest of the genre are heeded.

L.A. Noire is a game over six years in the making. An extended development time can be both a blessing and a curse. The game displays a mixture of both but you certainly can’t fault Team Bondi’s ambitions. It pushes the boundaries in certain respects but can’t quite break free from its more familiar game-like trappings, suffering because of it.

A review for Hothead Games’ action platformer. A simple summary of the game is that you control creatures known as Swarmites and have to get them to the end of the level while trying to achieve a high score. Sounds pretty familiar, right? Well, the main difference is that you’re controlling 50 of these Swarmites all at once and you’ll find it near impossible to get through a level without a lot of them dying.
